Train Your Brain for Trading Success

One of my students (who is already a very good trader) shows up to my Sunday Market Brief every week and PreMarket Prep every day.

Almost every day he gets asked “How do you know all this?” New traders want to know how he did it. It really comes down to just two things. And those two things allow you to train your brain for trading success.

Here’s the truth about the Money Monday trade

The Big Picture

Now, I have to give him some kudos because the guy is an amazing trader. But every day, people ask the same question:

“How did you do it?”

Everyone Wants the Magic

Everyone wants the magic pattern or the magic stock.

This guy is one of the hardest-working people I’ve ever seen. There’s nothing magic about what he’s done.

The thing with trading is, there are two things that matter more than anything else.

The Magic of Hard Work and Discipline

Listen, you could go through old videos on the StocksToTrade YouTube channel from five years ago and they’ll still apply to today’s market.

The great thing about penny stocks is that it’s the same patterns playing out again and again. It’s the same catalysts and risk management.

That’s why hard work and discipline are so important. They are the keys to training your brain for success.

Train Your Brain

Some people are led to believe that they are either born with the ability to focus, or not. Or that work ethic comes from your early years, and if you didn’t get it from your family, you can’t get it.

If either of those were true, how does the U.S. military turn young men and women into world-class examples of focused, hard-working, dedicated individuals and team members?

At the same time, why do some people learn discipline and keep it their entire lives, but others don’t?

The reality is that most people can train themselves to:

  • Stay focused (especially if it’s something that interests you)
  • Delay gratification
  • Build good habits
  • Deal with the frustration of losing until you put in the reps to win

That’s what hard work and self-discipline are all about. And they’re what really matter if you want to be a successful trader.

My Take

There’s all kinds of evidence about the importance of training your body to support your mind. Both physical and mental health are important in the trading game.

If you’re struggling, or for some reason think it’s not within you, I suggest reading “Discipline Equals Freedom” by former Navy SEAL and business leadership consultant Jocko Willink.

Watchlist

Entera Bio Ltd. (NASDAQ: ENTX) was up big in premarket trading yesterday (July 27) after the company announced pricing an oversubscribed $275M private placement.

ENTX, 7/27/26, 5-min candles, premarket runner with good news

ENTX, 7/27/26, 5-min candles, premarket runner with good news

ENTX is a little higher float than my regular Daily Market Profits Alert. But I liked the solid news yesterday. With a signal at $2.97, risk zone at $2.80 and a target of $3.50+, the trade worked to a T.

Notice the support & resistance line on the chart at $3.24?

The 1-year chart confirms why that’s an important level:

ENTX, 1-year, daily candles, new 52-week high, resistance becomes support

ENTX, 1-year, daily candles, new 52-week high, resistance becomes support

ENTX had a clean breakout over the 52-week high ($3.22) when it held going into the afternoon. If it holds above that key level and consolidates today, it could be in for another move up tomorrow.
