Something major is happening this evening.
If you don’t already know about it, I can tell you that the star of the show has an impact like no other on the markets…
Yesterday, it sent this stock vertical by 45%* in just ten minutes!
Another huge event is scheduled for tonight as well, and I hope you’ll be there…
I just scheduled an urgent live trade briefing.
Why now?
I’ve developed a special technique that has shown us massive single-day gains like the following…
199% on MBIO
352% on MCVT
414% on SBET
…And there are lots more.
According to my latest research, the potential from this system could skyrocket after Labor Day weekend.
That’s why tonight, August 27th at 8 PM ET, I’m going live to give you the full breakdown… so you’re not left on the sidelines when the action starts.
Spots are going fast! You don’t want to miss this…

In the meantime, let’s talk about how you can catch stock wins like the 45%-er above…
Every trader knows the thrill of catching a stock on the move. But what many overlook is that sometimes the best opportunities aren’t in the headline stock itself…
They’re in the ones that move alongside it.
These are called sympathy plays — stocks that rally (or sell off) because of a related company making big news, reporting earnings, or a sector heating up.
Table of Contents
What Are Sympathy Plays?
A sympathy play happens when one stock’s move sparks momentum in other, related tickers.
Think about it:
- If Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) announces record EV sales, chances are you’ll see other EV makers or lithium suppliers pop.
- If a biotech company secures FDA approval, competitors in the same niche might see sympathy buying.
And in yesterday’s example, when Firefly Neuroscience (NASDAQ: AIFF) mentioned Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) in its PR headline, the stock surged.
Why?
NVDA is a stock like no other. Its effect on other stocks, and even the broad market, is almost unprecedented.
For many names, especially penny stocks like AIFF, simply being associated with NVDA in any way can cause significant price action.
Why Sympathy Plays Matter
Sometimes the headline stock is already up 50–100% by the time you notice. Jumping in late can be dangerous.
But sympathy plays often move second, giving you a cleaner entry point after the hype kicks in.
They also let you diversify your risk. Instead of chasing the crowded trade, you find the side doors where smart money is flowing.
How to Spot Sympathy Plays
Here are a few things I look for:
- Sector/Industry Relationships: Stocks in the same sector often trade together. If one spikes, the group gets attention.
- Supply Chains and Partnerships: If a chipmaker rallies, watch its suppliers, customers, and competitors.
- Relative Size: Smaller-cap sympathy plays often move faster and more dramatically than the big dogs.
- Volume Confirmation: Don’t assume every related stock will run. Look for volume — that’s where traders are actually committing capital.
NVDA Sympathy Play Watchlist
NVDA is set to report earnings tonight, and chances are, it’s going to beat expectations. It’s already had ten earnings beats in a row. The odds are in its favor.
Whatever happens, the sympathy plays will be on the move!
Here are some of the names I’m watching…
AMD (Advanced Micro Devices):
This is often the #1 sympathy mover when NVDA runs.
It’s a large-cap stock and a swing trade candidate. If it’s out of your budget, consider using options to get in on the action at a fraction of the price.
Taiwan Semiconductor (NYSE: TSM):
Manufactures chips for NVDA. Earnings or NVDA news often lifts TSM.
Another swing trade idea.

TSM One-Month, Hourly Candles Chart; SteadyTrade
Rigetti Computing (NASDAQ: RGTI):
Quantum computing play that often trades on AI/semiconductor momentum.
Low float, so sympathy hype can push it quickly.

RGTI One-Month, Hourly Candles Chart; SteadyTrade
CXApp Unc. (NASDAQ: CXAI):
Small-cap AI/cloud software stock.
Moves erratically, but it’s on traders’ scanners whenever NVDA headlines are in play.

CXAI One-Month, Hourly Candles Chart; SteadyTrade
AEye Inc. (NASDAQ: LIDR):
Lidar/AI sensing tech software.
Has popped during AI sector momentum waves.

LIDR One-Month, Hourly Candles Chart; SteadyTrade
My Final Thoughts…
Sympathy plays are one of my favorite ways to trade momentum. You don’t always have to chase the leader…
Sometimes the smarter trade is finding where the money is about to flow next.
When NVDA makes headlines, I’m always watching AMD and TSM first. Then I scan the broader AI sector for sympathy volume.
But don’t blindly buy every related ticker. Wait for volume, wait for confirmation, and be ready to strike when the crowd shifts.
That’s how you turn one stock’s move into multiple trading opportunities.
Have a great day, everyone. See you back here tomorrow.
