Bohen’s Morning Routine: Key Takeaways

  • What Tim Bohen does every day — no matter what…
  • How this routine helps him find the day’s biggest potential movers…
  • Is this the most important 60 seconds of any trader’s day?

Successful people always talk about their morning routines. But how necessary are they?

I think I can safely say that my morning routine plays a huge role in my success. So I highly recommend you get yours nailed down. Read on to learn what I do every day before the market open and how that helps me prep for the hottest potential trades.

You don’t have to do exactly what I do. It’s all about what works for you. But hey, if you want to copy it, that’s OK, too…

What I Do Every Day Before 9:30 a.m.

Here is how my morning shapes up before the market opens…

Wake Up Early!

You know what’s nice about 4:30 a.m.? No one else is awake!

Except me. I’m even beating the birds to those worms…

This time of day is quiet and gives me a great opportunity to get a head start on the world.

I pound coffee like it’s nobody’s business and digest the day’s news … It’s important to know where the overall market might be heading before diving into individual stocks and setups.

The news can help me figure out potential trades for the day.

I know not everyone likes paying for news content … But sites like the Wall Street Journal and Barron’s help me identify the important trends.

Using StocksToTrade’s Breaking News Chat helps as well. You can test drive it for 14 days!

I read press releases, SEC filings — all the boring stuff that a lot of people skip over. There’s a ton of useful information in the boring stuff.

Then I run scans to see which tickers could be setting up for a run. Speaking of running…

Work Out & Fuel Up

Waking up early can energize you. You know you’re awake before the ‘enemy,’ as Jocko Willink says…

Getting your body moving can give you even more energy. More importantly, it gets your noggin’ fired up.

And with that, I eat a good breakfast. No bread, cereal, or donuts — I eat REAL food.

I also squeeze in some family time. I hang out with the kids and send them off to school before diving in for the day. Then it’s full speed ahead…

Prepare for the Market Open

Now all the work I did starts to come together. Getting up early may sound like a drag until you realize you’re READY.

I’m checking back in to see any premarket action and alerts, using StocksToTrade and my top scanners. I’m setting trading plans — plotting entries, exits, and risk levels.

I also fire up my cameras.

You can join my Pre-Market Prep sessions live at 8:30 a.m. Eastern. Or if you want more detailed trade analysis, apply to join the SteadyTrade Team. Every trading day I host a live SteadyTrade Team webinar from 9 to 9:45 a.m.

For the record, at this point I’ve been up for four hours already. I’m pumped and ready to roll.

That’s how I’m primed to optimize the most important 60 seconds of the trading day at 9:29 a.m. If I was just getting up, I wouldn’t be ready for the day’s biggest potential moves.

How can you do the same? Start your morning routine. Be ready for the big spikers.
