Education
Ellis graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor's degree in Design and Visual Communications, balancing his education with a football career that saw him earn All-Big 12 Conference first-team honors as a senior. When he entered the NFL in 2005 he was 7 credits shy of graduating, and in 2009 he returned to complete his degree. Ellis also received the Academic Athlete of the Year Award and was a finalist for Christian Athlete of the Year.

Ellis is probably most famous for having one of the longest kick returns for a touchdown in the NFL.


His career ended abruptly when he suffered a second neck injury in 2010. But he didn’t let that ruin his life. In the adaptiveness he shows as a trader, Ellis took this close call with complete paralysis as a signal to change.
