Robinhood Markets Inc (NASDAQ: HOOD) was off to the races again today, extending a wild rally for the second straight session.
HOOD stock surged as much as 71% early in the session, hitting a new all-time high of $85.00 per share.
At writing, shares were still up more than 46%.
That jump comes after the stock closed at $46.80 per share on Tuesday, which was up more than 24% and the company’s first close above the IPO price.
Trading was halted for volatility several times this morning as retail investors appear to be following famed stock-picker Cathie Wood’s lead.
Ahead of the open, StocksToTrade’s Breaking News Team took notice of the movement.
HOOD Stock Was a Big Premarket Mover
The first Breaking News alert on HOOD stock was sent out ahead of the market open at 9:26 a.m. Eastern, as shares were rallying in premarket trade.
“$HOOD such a great move yesterday that continued in the after-hours session and is now gapping up $7. The Pre Mkt high is $55.37, so if this is going to make another move, that would be the first level to key on. Stock has 146M float.”
And that call seemed to be right on as HOOD stock rallied strong at the open and quickly blew past its premarket high.
In another alert at 10:13 a.m. Eastern, the Breaking News Team said:
“HOOD opened at 9:30 AM EST at $54.45 and in the first few minutes traded through the Pre mkt high of $55.37 and skyrocketed higher, HOOD had a HUGE move up to $85 in the first 15 minutes of trading, a $30 move higher from the Pre market breakout alert price.”
The stock appears to be a leader for retail traders again today, with SwaggyStocks data showing HOOD is still the top mentioned ticker on WallStreetBets.
Fidelity’s real-time trading data also shows Robinhood is the top traded stock on the broker today.
